Hi Paul and Suzan,
I am sure that you get a lot of emails and photos about your dogs. But we only have one and he is the best puppy on God’s earth. Well that is Leighton speaking. Leighton has turned out to be the “one” for Luke. They can’t get enough of each other. I am a bit jealous (smile) because Luke was supposed to be my dog. With your experience, you probably saw that when they first met. Anyway, this is a very good thing! The kid actually enjoys cleaning up after the Luke…what a blessing. And he reminded me and helped me set the ears yesterday. Hope you had a merry Christmas. Enjoy the photos of Sir Luke the brave.

Paul & Suzan:
Just a few pictures to show you how your baby is adjusting.....
Thank you once again for picking out such an Angel for us she gives us joy every day.
I will keep you posted and send you pictures of her life's journeys.
On a business sense we need to talk about her food....what is shipping cost on the lg bag.
Ok, Once we get that information I will set up a schedule on having her food and vitamins shipped out so I don't have to worry about it.
It was so nice meeting you both Avery is already talking about wanting another one.....too funny, let me get my new baby raised fisrt...You have a wonderful Christmas and the best of a New Year...
Hugs
Dorene & Avery
You're welcome! He likes the new "big boy" food. No problems with his system so far with the change. Of course, we're doing the gradual switch but he picks the "big boy" food out and eats it first, hahaha!
Zeus will be a year old on the 13th. He has changed so much since April 7th, the day he arrived. He is a very big boy and quite the protector. There is no doubt he'd die for us. He challenges everyone that comes here and unless we go to the door and let them in, he will not allow them to enter. Once they are inside, he is between us and who ever it is coming in.
He is such a creature of habit, each morning he's up early to go outside and play. He has a few special toys that we throw for him to retrieve and he lives for that time each morning. It is actually funny to watch. He'll sit at the back door and look out into the back yard to see if his toys are out there. Then he will focus on the toy and just stare at it. He's a trip!!
We so love this boy and again, we thank you for such a wonderful Doberman Pinscher!
Oh, I wanted to tell you one more thing~we were at Petco last week with Zeus. There was a very nice couple there with a 16week old male Dobie. Same age Zeus was when he arrived with us. I have to tell you, there is absolutely no comparison. This pup's coat was dull, his eyes cloudy, his ears cut very strangely and his body shape was like none others, I've ever seen. Now Zeus on the other hand, was very handsome at 16 weeks. Coat shining, eyes clear and as we all know, his little ears turned out perfect. Zeus had some substance to him and looked so healthy. This other pup just looked "sickly". So, you guys do such a wonderful job with the pups. The couple could not believe that Zeus was less than a year old and all they kept saying was, "Oh, he is so beautiful!!".
Thanks again,
Darleen & Tom
Hi Susan and Paul,
Attached are some birthday photos of Mojo. He is such a great dog! We couldn't be happier!

Thank you very much for the honest response. You answered every question I had and if I ever get a doberman I will make sure I have a house and someone to watch him while I am at work. It's good to know there are honest breeders out there who aren't just concerned with making money on dogs.
Andy
Suzan & Paul;
Yesterday Tyr and I attended the Doberman Pinscher Club of America 2008 National Show and Convention. He did not show in the ring, my fault from the get go, I was not informed of the timing of the show until the entry was closed. BUT, from the time we walked into the building he was the, ALL eyes on dog!!!
We had three of the people showing, inquire of his breeding and I cannot count the number of people complementing him on his manners, training, deportment and to quote one veteran woman of forty years of showing Doberman's.
"That is one Dam good looking dog, he looks and holds himself as the Doberman of the time when the breed/dogs had pride in itself. He has the look of, 'The DOG', not an over sized bitch. Please look at the dog you have here, look at the lines of the head, neck and shoulders, this is a dog, a good number of people here would sell their soul for."
Jake
(This dog is from the Cajun/Lobster litter)
Hey Paul,
Grace was from Faith & Legends litter, so she is 8 1/2 months, she's about 80 lbs & 24" @ the shoulders, very smart & all lovable goofball. Thanks again for breeding such wonderful dogs....can't wait to get a 2nd one.

Hi Suzan & Paul,
Just dropping in to give you a report on our Zeus. He started his obedience class last Thursday and he was the "STAR" of the class. The instructor immediately fell in love with him and used him as an example on how to do! Since he arrived here 4/7/08, we have been working with him with sit, stay, come, heel and down. He is amazing and really showed how smart he is in class. He walked with amazing pride, holding his head up high and strutting like the king of the ring, so to say.
He now weighs in at 75lbs. and he is 25" at the shoulder. There is not an ounce of fat on him and he is a lean, beautiful young man. I've sent so many photos that I think I'll wait until he finishes his schooling to send more.
Thank you for producing such amazing Doberman Pinschers and for the perfect one we purchased from you. He is such an important part of our lives and we love him very much.
Darleen & Tom
I just want to congratulate you on a great website and your devotion to maintaining this wonderful breed, I have never owned a doberman but I have been reading about them since I was 15, I`m 31 now. I will be moving back to my native homeland Costa Rica at the end of the year hopefully, after 20 years of living in the U.S. I will be living in an area where there are lakes ,rivers and woods and plenty of open space for a dobe to get exercise, as well as having a good personal protector since the crime rate over there has gone up considerably. Anyway I just wanted to thank you for your dedication and devotion to this great dog.
Best Regards, Ricardo

Hi Paul and Suzan,
Just thought I would enclose some recent shots of our beautiful boy Max. He is just over a year old now and weighs 97lbs! As you can see he is a beautiful boy and we love him very much. Thanks to you both for running such a great breeding program that would bring such a wonderful dobie like Max into our lives. Keep doing what you’re doing...I am sure that we will be looking for a new brother or sister for Max soon!
Thanks again, Mike and Lucy.

Hi Paul,
Zeus is exactly what we wanted and more. We have had a total of 7 Rescue Dobermans. Zeus is only our second pup. He is far superior to our other Pup and he ranks right up there with our Zena, Warrior Princess who passed away on 12/13/05. I still can't believe that Zeus was born on the anniversary of our Zena's passing and that his Grandmother is named Zena, Warrior Princess also. He was certainly meant to be our pup!
He is such a great guard dog BUT also, such a loving pup. He could be police K-9 trained for dual personality with no problem at all. He is a man's dog, he loves Tom with all his little heart but he still loves on me and sleeps on me.
We could not have been happier and we owe all of this to you and Suzan. Your experience, care and the early development of these pups is just phenomenal.........and it shows in Zeus. He's PERFECT!
Hello to Suzan for us.

Paul and Suzan,
Lexi is now 1 year old and doing wonderfully with our family. She is such a joy to be around! All three of my boys look forward to playing with her. You were right about her taking care of my oldest son that has Down Syndrome... she has been checking on him at bedtime and I caught her laying on the end of his bed one night when he was sick. Chris is bad about holding her down and giving her "nuggies", so I'm so surprised that she has continued to show such patience and affection towards him. She is a wonderful dog.

Good Morning Mr. & Mrs. Baker,
I just wanted to send you some pictures of Duke(pic 1, pic 2)! He is now over one year old and weighs almost 90 lbs. We love him! He is naturally very protective, learns quickly, very loyal & loving as you can see in the photos below. What is interesting with his training, is that he knows all my clients by their voice & if someone new comes through the door, he immediately sounds the alarm & is on guard until I reassure him its okay. The people he is uncomfortable with are the ones we watch very carefully! Tim feels so much better knowing Duke is here to protect us whenever he is gone ... and we all sleep better knowing he is protecting everyone. Duke goes everywhere with us, including running 5K's or going to the track for training! He is in awesome shape and can jump very high!
Thanks again for breeding such wonderful, beautiful dogs. We get numerous compliments on his regal stature, composition & nature ... they are beautiful animals.
With respect,
Tim & Lorinda

I am so sorry that I have not kept in contact with you guys. I have been meaning to call and THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR MY BEAUTIFUL SON. He is growing so fast, I can't even keep up with him. We are going running every night and he goes to work with me everyday. Eats a ton! Very active and playful, but quite a little trouble maker. He is very smart, I tought him how to sit in like two hours. I have been keeping up with his shots and is actually going in for his rabies and a check up this Saturday. You should see how many people praise him, at work and when I take him to the park. Nobody has ever seen a Doberman of his color, lol, I've even been offered $6,000 for him, but he is my son, I didn't even think about it. He is also going to start obedience school this month. Thank you guys so much, he is just beautiful. Also, I might be sending some people interested, your way. I also attached some pictures for you to see. We were at the park. Thanks again, Mike

Hey there. Hope you all had a great Christmas. Emma was alone (with a pet sitter three times a day for an hour) from Sunday night till Tuesday afternoon and she was perfect. We even left some gifts under the tree and she didn’t disturb anything. She’s an angel! We had all her Christmas toys on the table and the sitter would open one for her every visit. I think that helped. Anyhow, I have to brag on my wonderful “child”.
Thank you again for our sweet Emma. God bless you extravagantly in 2007- we love you,
Marcia and Keith

I HAVE TWO DOBIES (SHOW QUALLITY) AND THEY DON'T EVEN COMPARE TO NITRO. I WAS WONDERING IF YOU GET MANY FAWN PUPPIES. I THINK THAT I WILL BE LOOKING FOR ONE IN THE NEXT YEAR (PROBABLLY A MALE) AND HOW MUCH YOU ASK FOR THEM. I LIKE THEM BIG AND BLOCKY.
THANK YOU
JENNY
August 2006 (Florida)
Everything is great, she arrived in great shape. We changed her name from "Riley" to "Rosie." Riley is my wife's maiden name and her father was none too happy by us naming our dog by him. I guest he did not see any honor by the naming. :)
She's been great with doing her business outside, so far no accidents. We put her in the crate last night in our family room and left the TV on. She cried for a few minutes two or three times during the night but over all she was super. She is trying our dachshound but since she was a mommy once she knows how to correct the large puppy. They will work out details. Talk to you later.
Thanks,
Rick

Hi, I just had to write you and tell you what a joy this puppy is, she's such a sweetheart and so gorgeous, I've had tons of compliments as i've walked her around the hotel she's quite popular! We ran her up to the airport about an hour ago to make sure we could take her on the plane and were told it would be fine... She's such a good baby she listens really well and slept through the whole night. She already seems to know who momma is because I am not allowed to close the door when I go to the restroom or she starts howling! LOL I just had to write and tell you how wonderful she is I am so happy!!!! Also I wanted to ask if maybe you could mail me her papers I forgot all about them and I would like to go ahead and register her. AAAAND I was so excited yesterday I forgot to ask if there is any special care for the edges of her ears I need to do the shampooing is going well though. I am so glad to have her she is amazing and thank you sooo much you guys are the best!!!
Thank you,

Dear Paul and Susan,
Thank you so much for the pictures. I was going to call and see how Marley was doing and see if her ears had been done yet. We are going to leave here next Wednesday to start our trip out there, we are planning on being there Monday August 28th. Could you give me her neck measurement so that I can get her collar. They are so big. Do you know how much she weighs? Everybody that I have forwarded the pictures keep asking, they keep saying how huge they are for there age. I hope you guys are doing well, and all your boys and girls and babies.
God Bless you both,
Lots of Love,
Annette

Hello Paul and Suzan,
Thank You very much for the most recent pictures you sent me. I can tell that my new puppy dislikes wearing suits as much as I do. I have been reading many books about Doberman training and one of the books shows pictures of the Nutro Natural Dog Food that you recommended.

What a girl!!! Thanks so much for the picture!! Please give Raven and the pups a hug from their North Florida fans!
We’re excited to say the least. We already have our crates and the puppies’ first toys. We will be collecting more stuff in the next months in preparation for their arrival. We’ve picked out two names (tentative) – Skye for her and Jet for him. We thought of two registration names for her – Nothin’ But Blue Skye (after the Willie Nelson song) or Skye’s the Limit – assuming that the name Skye fits her!
Hope you guys have a great day!

Wendy

Hi Suzan,
Well, our Liadan will be 2 years old in November (Shammy and Nitro liter November 2, 2004). Anyway - we'll be passing through Casa Grade mid August and I was wondering what puppies and from what litters you might have available at that time??? also, what's your rates these days. Would love to get a playmate for Liadan!
Hope all is well and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Paul
thank you for the photos they were absolutely brilliant, I roared with laughter when I opened them up and you were right he looks so cute bless him. I sent a copy of them straight on to the grandchildren as I knew they would love them also.
I really love getting the photos of him but don't want to seem to be a nuisance as I know how busy you will be with all the pups. I was thinking how quick these past five weeks have gone and if time keeps going as quick he will be here in no time.
If its at all possible and you have any hotels near you then a couple of weeks before he flies over I thought it would be great to come over and meet him so that then when he gets over here he will know me and not be faced with people completely unknown to him, but that is some way off yet (but not that long the way time seem to go) anyway its something to think about.
You and Suzan take care and please give my boy a big hug from me

Hi Paul,
I received your pictures, his paws are huge! We are very excited and can hardly wait for the next few weeks to pass. The last payment will be mailed 7/17/06. Are there options on ears being cropped? We would like a medium height for the ears. One of my previous dogs had his ears too long and they never stayed up. Thank you for all your updates, we really appreciate it. See you soon!

Paul,
Unfortunately Scarlet broke one of her hind legs a week and a half ago. I elected to have the hospital surgically repair the break. She is doing well now and will need 6 more weeks to heal. Just hate to see her not able to play the way she used to. She is a great companion. Everyone who meets her comments on her beauty and demeanor. I’ll send some pictures soon.
Thanks,
Carl

May 2006 (Alaska)
This is Kathy from Valdez Alaska, I just wanted you to know that jazzy is doing very well can't express the love I have for her, she has really become my very best friend. I really can't imagine life with out her, she goes to work with me and yea she even has her side of the bed, my daughter laughs at us. My daughter has really taken to her also, she is so sweet beautiful eyes anyway I really think I would like her to have a play mate, the other dogs she plays with can't keep up she has so much energy she just wears them down she could play for hours non stop, she loves to play down by the river she splashes around, she loves the ocean and the birds. I was concerned she would be to cold in the winter but I was so wrong she absolutely loves the snow can't keep her out of it. Her ears never did stand but I think it just makes her look sweeter. I would like to talk to you about getting another dobbie, I was thinking a male this time? Would or do you think Jazzy would take to him?
Thank-you so much
Kathy

Hi Paul and Suzan. It finally rained a bit so I have time to send a note.
Jack is G-R-E-A-T! You know, I was a little worried about picking up a 12 week old puppy when we were on vacation, traveling around with a 30' camper but it turned out great. We were never too busy to watch the puppy and learn his signals. And he learned to be quiet when there were other voices (people & dogs) outside of the camper.
He is a great traveler and we plan to take him along in June when we drive to Alaska.
He is growing up nicely....6 months, 69 pounds, and 26 inches tall. He has been in the truck, tractor, pick-up, and car.
He bowls right into me every once in awhile when he is excited about retrieving a ball or toy but mostly he is respectful.
He walks well on a leash without pulling my arm out of the socket. I want that leash relaxed and he does a great job at honoring that. He has a rubber duck that he has had since he was 15 weeks and he gets it for you when you say "Get the duck." He has not been much of a chewer, thank heavens. And we have kept him well supplied with toys and chewies during teething.
His ears look good. He has one that drops when he is tired but generally they stand nice.
Jack sleeps in a nylon pup tent every night. He has lots of room to stretch out as the floor is 4'X6'. Ric just says "Jack, get in your house" and he goes right in and we zip the flap shut.
Ric loves this dog.
I will try to get you some pictures soon.
Hope all is well there. Arlyss

Suzan and Paul, Our veterinarian must have said four times she is very healthy, well proportioned, with very nice manners, well socialized as a puppy. We love her so much, she is so calm; our 20 month old boy lies with her. He puts his head on the pup's butt for a pillow. She has never been rough with the kids, she's beautiful.
Thank you,

My wife went out of town right after we picked up the puppy. She has been sleeping in bet with me. She puts her feet in my back and pushes me off the pillow and steals it from me. How much longer will she keep doing that. I love her and she is with me all the time. What a great dog!
Thanks for everything,

Neo is doing well. He weighs 48 pounds and is now eating from the green bag. He eats 2 cups of food three times a day! He is going to be a big, big boy - see attached photos. A week ago, he visited the vet and had his last set of puppy shots, except for the Parvo booster at 18 weeks. We are still taping his ears, which are looking good.
Thanks.

Dear Suzan and Paul, For years I have enjoyed the friendship of a well known vet and his wife. He is best known for cropping ears for of various breeds. He is very familiar with the Doberman breed and accustomed to overseeing the health of many show dogs currently being shown. His advise upon hearing that I was purchasing a Super Size Dobie was "DON'T".
Even thought he isn't taking new patients, he assured me that he would see our new baby. He is a man of few words, not quick to give compliments and is vary familiar with "show quality Dobermans". The first time I took our baby to see him (I was expecting to hear "grunts" of disapproval), but was pleasantly surprised when he began to smile while examining our puppy. When he completed the exam he said "I think you should show him, he's a great dog!"
Two months have passed, my baby and the veterinarian are great friends. He has gone over our boy with a "fine toothed comb" and found nothing. Today he announced that our boy is now too large to show in his class, but he still thinks he is a great dog.
Last month a visiting veterinarian, specializing in large breed dogs, took a special interest in "my boy", expressing her opinion that "he is absolutely beautiful", then wanting to know where he came from.
Now our boy is in obedience school. The trainer keeps telling me he is really smart, ( I never hear him telling anyone else anything). The last lesson his partner, who travels the world showing dogs as a professional handler, walked through the middle of the class looked at my boy (Zipper). She interrupted the lesson and wanted to know how old "Zipper" was and where I got him. After finding out how old he was she commented "he'll be bigger than the show standard for sure---but he sure is beautiful".
I've had the privilege of having several dogs, but none of them have ever stirred up this much commotion!
I just thought I'd let you know, I'm grateful to have him---thank you
Sincerely, Beth

Hey Ya'll!
Sorry it has been so long since i last wrote to you. I just thought i would send you a quick update on Armani, he is doing very, very well. He goes running with me everyday and seems to love it, he is sooooo smart and sweet natured and i am convinced that there is not another dog out there with a better personality, he keeps me laughing, but he is also a big lover (he loves nothing more than to jump up on the couch and watch tv with me). He is getting sooo big its incredible, i suddenly had a moment of realization the other day when i started thinking about just how big he is going to be getting. I am having a little trouble with his left ear, it is refusing to stand all the way but i think that that problem will be solved shortly. Armani just lost his third tooth yesterday, and i have to say i am not too sad to see those puppy teeth go. I will try to write again soon and send ya'll some pictures. I hope everything is going well for ya'll and that the move did not stress you too badly. Keep doing what you are doing, the dogs you are producing are incredible!

This is a follow-up letter she wrote us regarding him protecting her at only 4 months old.
he is doing awesome with protection, he is still a little skittish, but i figure he is still a puppy so he will grow out of it. anytime that i am walking him at night he DOES NOT like anyone to walk directly towards me. it will set him off barking and circling around me and if the person continues to walk towards me he will firmly place himself in between me and the person.. even people he is familiar with, if they walk towards me or appear threatening at all he will have none of it. but as soon as i tell him its ok, or greet the person he will relax noticeably, although he is still very alert and ready for whatever might happen. i am in love with him, he is the best thing i have ever done and i am so so so happy with him. i will send ya'll pictures and talk to suzan, you will be able to see the ear in the pictures...i think the vet decided that he was done taping the ears before they were really ready. hope you have a great weekend, and thanks again for helping to bring such a loving and incredible dog into my life.

August 2005 (Phoenix, Arizona)- - - - This is a very proud time for us at Desert Legend Dobermans. Our dogs did exactly what they were bred to do and protected this home. Also impressive is the fact that they did not chase the intruder, but stayed on the property to protect their family. Read this true story.
Dear Paul and Suzan,
I just had to write this down, just a few hours ago some unknown stranger walked into my home. Since I just got home about 20 minutes earlier and had a phone call from my husband letting me know he was on his way home I thought it was my husband walking in the door. I had just laid our toddler down and was coming down the hall when I heard the door open, about 1 solid second passed and I heard the dogs go nuts just as I turned the corner toward the front door. I saw a stranger with one foot in the door, both large Dobermans were standing less then 3 feet away from this stranger with nothing but jaws and teeth to greet him. I just got a glimpse of him as he was already running away from my house. The dogs I got from you did exactly what you said they would do. Even though the intruder ran and left my front door and gate wide open both the Dobermans stayed with me rather then give chase, which could have left me in a vulnerable position.
When the police arrived they asked me if he looked drunk or lost. I told them that if he was lost he came to the wrong house. The police took one look at Judge and asked if he was a Great Dane, even they were intimidated by his appearance. I have no doubt that my Dobermans protected me from something truly awful. Thank you so much for raising the quality Dobermans that our family can depend on.
Sincerely,
The S........ Family (for obvious reasons they wish to remain anonomious)

Hi Suzan,
We are so happy with King Baron. He is exactly the way you described him and is getting bigger every day. He has personality plus and I cannot begin to tell you about his great personality. The girls love him and can't wait to get home from school to play with him. But he is really my husbands dog, he comes home from work to have lunch with him.
Thank you so much, he is everything you said he would be.
